The Glenrothes whiskey typically uses a combination of American and Spanish oak casks from sherry, bourbon and malt scotch. But not for Alba Reserve. For this drink, John Ramsay used whiskey exclusively aged in American oak bourbon casks.
As a result, the whiskey acquired generous tones of coconut and vanilla, softness, silkiness and notes of crème brulee.
Quercus Alba is the Latin name for white (or American) oak, and Alba is the Gaelic name for Scotland.
Alba Reserve, a white oak native to the United States, lends the whiskey generous notes of coconut and vanilla.
Alba Reserve whiskey has all the right notes. "- JohnPamsay, Master of Blending
